What is the philosophy and program goals of Learn2Play?
Enfield Soccer Association’s Learn2Play is a recreational development program designed to provide enjoyment through learning the game of soccer. The 8-week program takes place outdoors on Saturdays beginning April 10, 2021, and is for children ages 3 to 5. The program will take place at Mark Twain Fields in Enfield. The ESA is very pleased to bring this program to families at no cost due to the generosity of our sponsors and individual donations from the community. We can’t thank Thermodynamics, Norganic Air Brush Tanning, and F.W. Webb enough for the financial support we have received from. Please consider these businesses that support our children in your future endeavors.
The Learn2Play Program takes place in a relaxed outdoor environment that maximizes enjoyment and learning. The children will develop their coordination, balance, enhance their socialization skills, and teamwork skills. We incorporate learning the game of soccer with a series of fun soccer games and creative soccer activities for all participants ages 3 to 5. With this program and in line with U.S. Youth Soccer, our participants will also experience some informal low-pressure scrimmage games. We don’t keep score or standings for the scrimmage games, the only thing we measure is “FUN.”
We can’t wait to get on the field with your child this Spring. Please check back to this page as we will providing additional information soon.

Learn2Play Program Directors
The ESA is very excited about the Learn2Play program. We are happy to announce that our directors for this program will be Jeff Rousseau and Jay Rousseau (see below bios). Both Jeff and Jay are committed to providing the children with an enjoyable soccer experience. They have assembled a great coaching staff that includes some very talented and knowledgeable adult coaches as well as a group of energetic junior counselors.
Jeff Rousseau

Program Director
Jeff has been involved in soccer for 37 years and has fulfilled roles within the game as a player, coach, referee, and administrator. He has held the position of “Director” of several youth soccer camps held throughout Massachusetts. As a player, Jeff captained his Agawam High School team and he later went on to play collegiate soccer at Western New England University. He then became the player/coach for Coca-Cola United. Jeff has coached both boys and girls soccer at many different levels. He coached boys soccer at Agawam High School, girls premier soccer for Soccer City Premier (SCP) and boys premier soccer for Juventus. Jeff has also coached at the recreational and competitive travel level in both Agawam and Enfield. Jeff's dedication to the growth of youth soccer in Enfield is what brought the Learn2Play program to life.
